2/2/2024 0 Comments Krypton season 2 episode 5Sipos still imbues his character with a lot of charm, but without Seg by his side, the Earth-man is lost in space. His comedic tone would probably have achieved its desired effect if he wasn't the only goofy character. And with all of his companions in less than stellar moods, Adam's jokes feel out of place. With Seg light years away and in a very sullen mood, Sipos' Strange is left to pick up the show's comedic slack. Adam Strange (Shaun Sipos) and Val-El (Ian McElhinney) also make appearances in the episode. Her connection to Hannah Waddingham's Jax-Ur is also compelling, as the two begin to form a kind of mother-daughter relationship. Now that she's freed herself from her father's influence, Nyssa is growing into a more interesting character as she struggles to balance her responsibilities as both a new mother and member of a rebellion against Zod. Wallis Day's Nyssa-Vex is another memorable figure worth mentioning. And maybe that's the point? Lyta may not have fallen completely to the dark side like her son. Sure, six months have passed since we last saw her, but it's difficult to buy her "tougher than nails" routine. Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather whose House of El was ostracized and shamed as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. Zod has gone full bad guy here, and even though there doesn't appear to be as much emotional nuance to his character this time around, Salmon remains engaging with his graceful delivery.ġ6 Images Lyta, on the other hand, doesn't feel like she's quite earned her Rogues Gallery member card quite yet. Salmon was born to belt out tyrannical speeches about glory and legacy. By Joey Mills Krypton Season 2 Episode 4 has Adam and Seg back in a Kandor that neither can recognize after Zod has remade the Rankless district in. Back on Krypton, Colin Salmon's General Zod has (mostly) cemented his rule with the help of his mother - Lyta (Georgina Campbell). Their banter is both funny and enlightening, especially when we learn more about the green alien's mysterious origins. ![]() ![]() One of the best relationships in Season 1 was between Adam Strange (Shaun Sipos) and Seg, but thankfully, Brainiac makes for a capable companion too. Ritson's Brainiac and Cuffe's Seg are a dynamic pairing, even though our time with them in this particular episode is limited. ![]() Cuffe effectively channels his character's darker mood with the help of a new beard and a devil-may-care attitude. The reluctant hero has become more emboldened and a bit more sullen since we last saw him. At the beginning of the episode, Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe) is still trapped in the Phantom Zone with Brainiac (Blake Ritson).
